About this map and downloads

Cells are an approximately 1 km sampling lattice. Colour shows the susceptibility tier — how the cell ranks against the others in the selected comparison. Opacity shows how much of the cell is natural-burnable vegetation.

The named model zones are coarse geographic strata used for optional within-zone comparison. They are not prefectural boundaries or administrative summaries.

This interim v4 surface uses a legacy FIRMS target that could not exclude every non-vegetation hotspot. It describes historical detection susceptibility, not current conditions or confirmed wildfire incidence.

Uncoloured land may be filtered out or unscored. A lower rank does not mean a place is safe. Use local records and field assessment before choosing prevention actions.
